Development with Pre-empt and self-referred proactive screening

After pioneering self-referred proactive screening for major conditions, Pre-empt has chosen to cease providing screening procedures in the meantime.

Thank you to all those who have chosen to have Pre-empt procedures. We are proud to have pioneered proactive screening for the heart, colon, bones, female pelvis, abdominal aorta and carotid arteries, using a combination of new cutting-edge diagnostic imaging procedures, and well-established procedures not previously used for screening.

We are also proud of the benefits Pre-empt has brought many people either though the early identification of conditions or through their receiving a clean bill of health.

However, and despite strong support from the radiology community, many specialists and the public, there are still vocal elements in the medical community opposed to proactive screening for the conditions outlined above due to a perceived lack of validation in the scientific literature.

Their opposition is such that, for the time being at least, we have felt it wiser to cease trading. We believe this is unfortunate as it will simply make it more difficult for those who wish to take a proactive approach to managing their health. After all, the opportunity for cure increases sharply with early detection.

The good news is that carefully managed and selective screening for major conditions is the way of the future.

Pre-empt’s time will come - and we look forward to bringing the benefits of proactive screening when this is finally accepted within the wider medical community.
